1. Say no!

A lot of people notice a huge difference just by saying ”no”. But it’s far from easy. The good thing is that you can help you team to do so. Confirm their situation by concrete actions. Make them feel anything but insufficient. Help them say no.

2. Get help

As a manager you sometimes feel like you’re on your own (but you’re not). Reach out and ask for help from the HR department as soon as you realise the situation is not temporary.

3. Don’t be afraid to ask

A stressful and intense working environment along with a difficult private life is a ticking bomb. Don’t be afraid to engage in your teams social life, try to grasp the big picture.

4. Encourage exercise

It is a fact that physical activity boosts the body and the brain. Give your team the possibility to exercise during work hours.

5. Follow up

There is no quick fix for work against stress. When you break a negative trend, don’t go back to business as usual. Keep asking questions that helps you discover stress at an early stage.
