It can sometimes be difficult to know exactly where the boundary separating our working life and our private life should be drawn. For some, this is not something they think about – for others, it's a cause for concern. This uncertainty can become particularly apparent if more and more colleagues suddenly become friends with the manager.

Do you need to be Facebook friends? Obviously, the answer is no, there is no obligation. But should managers have a different way of reasoning? “If it helps you and your manager to build a sustainable relationship that can improve the work situation, it is undoubtedly a yes”, says Johan Book in this article (Swedish text).
